Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz, birthed in Winona Minnesota. Parents of Winona Ryder chose her name after the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father came from the Jewish family. Ryder believes she is Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder moved with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. At the time, there was no electricity. Ryder, who loved reading at the age of 12 years old, became a reader since Ryder had no access to television. Ryder began taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. Lucas, a 1986 film, was her first major role. Ryder was just fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder faced bullying during her high school years. She hoped acting would bring about a change. Sadly, this didn't occur. But that didn't stop her pursuing dreams. It was 1988 the year that Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that was her breakthrough. Ryder continued to play success in roles. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
