Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe. She has also performed at performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church where she sang and performed piano. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on Atlanta's R&B music scene. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. She was appointed as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. In 2007, Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir in the production staged by Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition during her four daily performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
